Countdown for summertime!
Let’s wrap up this week with the fun wedding of Sandra + Filipe, up north, in Penafiel.
Sandra is the half of Cara Lavada Design, a small and very cute event company, so she was on her turf, designing her own perfect wedding.
Friends and family (and her barber groom!) got together for this celebration: everyone got up early in the morning to set up the most beautiful day for this couple, with lots of creativity flowing and a perfect result!
Cocktails, traditional games, vintage ambience… you name it, they had it all – totally fun and tasteful!
Check out the video recorded by duo FullCut Wedding Films!
Have a great weekend!
When Vanessa + João decided to tie the knot, in the beautiful island of São Miguel, Azores, they knew exactly what they wanted: a vintage vibe, something relaxed and modern that could bring together a beautiful mix of all the good stuff from the 20s to the 70s.
They incorporated some of their own furniture into the décor and reused other objects, like a bicycle that they painted white, an antique wooden sewing box, old books… Using a neutral palette, they added pops of color through little details in the wedding’s many nooks and crannies at Espaço Quinta – Eventos, on tables, flower arrangements and even in the dress code.
A very DIY bride and groom who enjoyed every minute of every surprise they put together for their guests, starting with their handmade wedding invitations, delivered in a wooden box filled with unique treats. And of course, something extremely special for themselves, which they always carry with them: their hand engraved wedding bands, just like when we engraved our initials on trees forever and ever!
Another essential detail on this extraordinary day was the music, with current songs reinterpreted by music genres of the 50s and 70s. All together, it was a fun and relaxed atmosphere that brought together the most important people in their lives, creating unique moments and memories, forever captured by photographer Adriana Morais, our selected

Remember last friday’s real wedding? Here is the short video story of the sweet vintage fairytale wedding of Sarah + David by Maria Rita.
More real wedding videos, here.
Sarah and David, both British, choose Portugal to celebrate their destination wedding. Apart from an unusual celebration, they wished to offer a unique experience to all their guests. Getting the chance to visit Portugal and Sintra seemed to be perfect. Sarah researched several venues and eventually found The Quinta – My Vintage Wedding in Portugal and searched no more.
The Quinta – My Vintage Wedding in Portugal, is located in Sintra and its unique characteristics, among which stands out its vintage style, truly captivated the couple. The wedding day started with a typical Sintra misty morning followed by a sunny afternoon. Sarah was quite nervous, David not so!
Dinner was served al fresco in a long family style table at dusk. This was an intimate, romantic wedding where everyone had a lot of fun, specially, through the many surprises the guests made to the bride and groom.
Talented destination wedding photographer Maria Rão was there to capture it for eternity and was generous enough to share the beautiful images with us. We’re sure you’ll be inspired and sincerely hope you’ll start dreaming of a destination wedding in Portugal yourself.

In the video, Vanessa & Ivo bring us today we are invited to accompany Alexandra and Sérgio throught the happiest day of their lives. We are invited to peek as they prepare for the ceremony. We are invited to witness their beautiful exchange of vows that tells us what being happy is all about. With them, we rejoice. And we are with them from sun rise to the very last wee hours in the morning.
The spring landscape of Famalicão accompanies us as well in this journey and offers this story a little more magic and color. So does the old church were they marry or the majestic salon with stone ruins of Solar da Levada were the party takes place. To the sound of Prince of Spain’s song “Run Little Child”, we see it all.
About the couple that inspired them, Vanessa and Ivo have a word or two to say: We met Alexandra and Sérgio and loved their sympathy and the way they look at life. What matters most is being with their family, having a great party. The wedding was beautiful! Sérgio arrived to the church in his blue Vespa and waited for Alexandra to arrive. And that she did. Beautiful, in a mermaid dress. Afterwards, they rode together, in their blue vintage Fiat Panda, to Solar da Levada.
Watch here how it all went down:
Iva and Pedro are from the city of Tomar, and that’s where they got married. Now, here’s the twist: they chose the wedding theme ‘1920’s’ and challenged their guests to dress accordingly!
The film is signed by Happy Together.
This wedding had another The Destination vendor in its credits: the photographers Menino Conhece Menina.
Thanks, Zacarias e Raquel, for such a refreshing film! And congratulations to Iva and Pedro, such a classy and fun couple!
