Filipa + Ricardo, Rustic Delight

Today we bring you a sweet rustic wedding in the outskirts of Lisbon, by the talented, Miguel Ribeiro Fernandes, The Destination Selected Vendor. In the genuine portuguese Aldeia da Mata Pequena, a small rural village set in a rich and well-preserved natural landscape, Filipa + Ricardo had a cosy hippie chic wedding in close contact with nature.

Once they’ve chosen the venue they worked the theme and the details along with the expertise of Outlux and the help of their families and friends. A lot on this wedding was DIY and it really enhanced the sweet relaxed and comfy mood of the whole celebration. Less is, definitely, more and this wedding proves that a greatness can be achieved with love and little else.

Beatriz + João, “love wins”

Today we bring you the simple, beautiful and very sweet wedding of Beatriz + John.
The wonderful images are by Rui Gaiola, of Golden Days of Photography and the party took place in the beautiful setting of Quinta dos Machados, our selected vendor.

A DIY wedding where love and friendship contributed from the start. Beatriz and John had family and friends helping on the preparations for this special day. Everyone collaborated to organize this intimate wedding, with references to the couple in every detail. Family involvement began even before the preparations for the ceremony and party. To ask Beatriz to marry him, John offered her the original engagement ring of her mother.

The ceremony was held in a simple, floral, and rustic atmosphere. The bride and groom exchanged sincere vows for eternal love that moved those who watched. It  was followed by a relaxed, cozy party in the beautiful setting of Quinta dos Machados. The romantic mood of this farm surrounded by pines, oaks and cypresses seemed “taylor-made” for this marriage.

The room decor was made the day before to the taste of the couple, with help from their friends and was the result of the inspiration they found in the pages of Simplesmente Branco and Pinterest. A DIY marriage where  floral arrangements, candles, table markers and origami were made by this friendly team. The participation of everyone in the party preparations was also an excellent way to celebrate another form of love: friendship.

Maybe it was a subliminal way found by Beatriz to overcome the absence of her mother in the most important day of your life.
“With the support and love from John, from family and friends all  became easier and happier!”, Beatriz told us.

Just push play! Jenny Makeup Land is on Youtube

Jenny’s brides are always so pretty and so delicate… We just love to watch her at work, graciously revealing the beauty in her brides. And now we also love watching the videos she uploads regularly on her Youtube Chanel, which she released earlier this year.

The last video shows us a few of Jenny’s favorites. Amongst her many suggestions, we found one that’s very special for us: the lovely, ‘silky’ and fragrant Portuguese soaps from Castelbel. They make for perfect gifts and the soap made with milk from female donkeys is just perfect!
