Wedding anniversary in Lisbon, by Maria Imaginária

Hi everyone! Still summer around here, can you imagine?

So, let’s wrap up this week with an exquisite video from dynamic duo Maria Imaginária: meet Mercedes + Joey, traveling to Lisbon for their first wedding anniversary.

So in love they were with the city, that they told us that if they had been here before, Lisbon would have been their wedding destination.

Nuno and Pedro, the videographers, guided them through the old neighbourhoods, spending the day until the last rays of light – the most beautiful time to enjoy the vibe and colors of Lisbon!

If I didn’t live here, I would have fallen in love too! What an epic and emotional film, I just keep on watching in loop mode!

Have a great weekend!

Run away with me, by Miguel Ribeiro Fernandes

There’s something absolutely magical and downright daring about elopement weddings, wouldn’t you agree? Michelle + Hakon chose to run away to Lisbon to tie the knot in a totally private ceremony with only one guest – Miguel Ribeiro Fernandes – as their photographer and witness. Their unique day began at the Norwegian embassy, where the wedding was officialized and then celebrated in the beautiful streets of Portugal’s capital, in the quaint Alfama neighborhood and by the Tagus River… all of which showered them with sun and sprinkled them with rain, a sign of luck according to tradition.

Rosario + Pedro, by Vanessa & Ivo Handmade Films

Hi everyone! Another week, another beautiful video: today, we present you Rosário + Pedro, happy love birds, owners of two cats and a multitude of action figures and toys, big fans of Star Wars and Doctor Who (as Vanessa & Ivo Handmade Films, the videographers, so you can imagine the four of them getting in total sync!), celebrating a hipster wedding in Portugal.

As you will see, the day started grey and dab, but nothing could cloud the beauty of the ceremony, which took place at Quinta de Sant’Ana (one of our wonderful hosts at The Destination – international wedding conference we put together late March), just on the outskirts of Lisbon.

Just sit back and enjoy the party!

Katerina + André, by Maria Imaginária

Hello everyone!

As September keeps on being busy, we bring you another beautiful wedding shot during this year. Today is all about Katerina + André: she’s Greek and he is Portuguese and they are both professional poker players. They met at a professional tournament and during vacation on the beautiful island Zakythos, André proposed.

They chose magical Sintra for the wedding, dressing up at the magnificent Palácio de Seteais, getting married in São Pedro Church and having the reception at Casa dos Penedos, a former private house.

The rest was history, and nothing similar to a fat greek wedding, oh no no no… it was a day to celebrate and connect: two lovers, two families, two cultures got together and share their customs, traditions and love… and that is always beautiful!

Gorgeous video work from Portuguese duo, Maria Imaginária.

Russian love, Portuguese passion

Let’s be totally honest here, as Misha + Sasha were with us: Portugal was not this Russian couple’s first choice when they decided to have a destination wedding and on the map that finally led them to Portugal, there were stops in Greece, Thailand and Montenegro. For one reason or another, however, they just kept on going and only stopped with Portugal on the horizon. And what a horizon – saying “I do” on a stunning cliff overlooking the ocean is something definitely worth searching for…

Alexandra + Bruno, by Shot & Cut Films

When you live abroad, you are filled with a mix of emotions, like being homesick (or saudades, as we portuguese call it). When it’s time to say “i do”, coming home is the way to go, as it is where the heart always is.

So, that’s just what Alexandra + Bruno did: a tremendous party for friends and family, a celebration held at the magnificent Palácio Marquês de Fronteira, filled with love, long hugs and everything else in between…

Powerful!

The first look

Kristen, who’s American, and Filipe, who’s Brazilian, met in Portugal while serving on a volunteer mission… their hearts went out to each other and the rest, as they say, is a beautiful love story. Before their wedding in the United States, they decided to come back to where it all started. First stop, Cabo Espichel in Sesimbra, followed by Serra da Arrábida… because we should always return to the places that make us happy.
